Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice
- Compact licenses transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
- Current CPR certification (hands‑on);
Aveanna can assist with obtaining it after hire - TB skin test current within last 12 months
- Preferred:
Six months prior hands‑on nursing experience - Reliable transportation
Position Overview
Provide and document skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, following care plans and physician orders while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Essential Job Functions
- Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders
- Continuously observe and assess patient condition and needs; report changes appropriately
- Document activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care promptly
- Participate in, implement, and update nursing care plans
- Takes appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes
- Recognizes changes requiring intervention and implements care to prevent or reduce risk
- Complies with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act
- Use infection control measures to protect staff and patient per OSHA standards
- Educate patient and family on disease process, self‑care, prevention, and nursing needs
- Maintain competency through continuing education and skill evaluations
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, documentation, and compliance with nursing policies
Additional State‑Specific Requirements
- South Carolina – One (1) year of pediatrics experience
- California – One (1) year of experience under current nursing license
- Louisiana – One (1) year of experience as a licensed nurse
- Continuing education as required by state
Preferences
- Six (6) months recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
- Home health experience

Physical Requirements
- Speak, read, write, and understand English
- Travel ability
- Lift up to 50 pounds and reposition patients and equipment without assistance
- Coping with prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
- Sit and climb stairs
- Good visual and hearing acuity; strong sense of smell and touch
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations in the home or during transport
Environment
- Function in various environments, possibly exposing to allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
