Supervisor of Nursing Services - Northeast, San Antonio, TX

Full‑time Monday‑Friday position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The role supports the Northeast region in San Antonio, TX, overseeing nursing functions and patient care within budgetary constraints while adhering to national and company standards. The Supervisor works closely with the Texas Oncology team, the largest community oncology provider in the country, delivering high‑quality, high‑touch, evidence‑based cancer care.

What does the Nurse Supervisor do? Coordinates all nursing activities, supervises staff, ensures compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, and supports the operational success of the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Oversight – oversee nursing clinical support activities
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs and effective nursing staff coverage within budget
  • Maintain consistent clinical operations aligned with organizational objectives
  • Monitor and evaluate patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures
  • Staff Development – coordinate training, in‑services, and internal developmental programs
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff
  • Serve as mentor/preceptor and provide day‑to‑day guidance to less experienced nurses
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least 3 years in oncology
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred

Working Conditions: Traditional office environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology clinic environment.

Physical Requirements: Large percent of time performing computer‑based work; requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs; requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
