The Throughput RN will assist in coordinating patient flow through the hospital and ensuring quality care across the continuum. They will provide leadership and support to the interdisciplinary team to ensure improvement opportunities are appropriately channeled to affect positive change and increase throughput.
Essential Job Functions:
1) Facilitates the movement of patients through the continuum of care in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on patient safety and satisfaction as well as supporting the mission and objectives of the organization.
2) Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop strategies for throughput process improvement and the implementation of new processes to ensure best practices are being utilized.
3) Will continuously monitor, evaluate, and provide training and education regarding throughput and its relationship to resource management, discharge planning, care coordination, and patient flow.
4) Supports throughput goals as established by Senior Leadership and monitor progress in achieving these goals by utilizing a variety of available tracking reports and other tools as available.
5) Models professional behaviors and provides support to facilitate strong working relationships between all members of the interdisciplinary team.
6) Utilizes and models sound judgment and critical thinking skills in decision‑making and has the ability to effectively prioritize and resolve issues.
What qualifications you will need:
1) Graduate of an associate, diploma or baccalaureate registered nursing program
2) Two years clinical nursing experience
