Surgery Scheduler for Alamo Urology Associates

Responsibilities- Triage surgical candidates as required by physicians
- Work with appropriate hospital personnel to obtain information for surgery scheduling
- Educate patients about planned surgery
- Verify insurance information in an electronic system
- Obtain insurance authorizations as required by individual plans prior to surgery
- Work in concert with surgeons to obtain medical clearances and pre‑operative testing as required by hospital protocols
- Confirm and reschedule return appointments, as necessary
- Provide assistance to administrative or clinical staff as needed
- Notify manager with patient account and insurance issues
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- CMA preferred; CPR required
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a physician office with prior surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred
- Occasional local travel to support other offices
