Overview

Med First Primary Care and the Baptist Health System are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient clinic located in Downtown San Antonio. This is an opportunity to be part of a well-established group that provides high-quality care to a diverse patient population.

• Full-time, outpatient-only position
• Collaborative team focused on patient care
• Manage a broad range of primary care needs, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute concerns
• Monday through Friday schedule during normal business hours

• Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
• Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
• Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program and adheres to applicable laws, rules, and corporate policies.
• Obtains and records patient health history; performs comprehensive physical assessment as part of a total physical examination.
• Diagnoses, treats, and plans appropriate health care for patients; refers patients to physicians and/or outside agencies as required.
• Ensures completion of all required documentation of patient care activities in accordance with policy.
• Fulfill all duties assigned by the physician and report any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment.
• Participates in patient review conferences and staffing; assists with program evaluation, infection control, safety, and related activities as needed.
• Orders medications and conducts or oversees testing and other appropriate procedures.
• Provides health teaching and counseling during the physical exam to enable informed health decisions.
• Provides consultative direction for nursing, laboratory, and clinic staff.
• Other duties as assigned

• Education: Bachelor s degree from an accredited school of nursing;
  Master s degree in nursing; completion of a state-acceptable Nurse Practitioner program
• Certification: Advanced Nurse Practitioner license to practice in the state; CPR certification; DEA registration with state
