Warehouse Pallet Inspector II

Overview

Position Description
Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full-time Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas.

Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.

• Will use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets.
• You will be placing pallets on repair table, removing defective boards, replacing with new boards and securing boards into place.
• Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours) and lifting up to 75 pounds throughout entire shift.
• Pallet Inspection/Smetco Operator:
  Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards; manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a conveyor; lift pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the Smetco machine; ensure proper inspection and separation; conduct physical inventories as required.
• Safety and Security:
  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse; conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety; comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards; must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
• Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract; performs other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 to 2 years or more in carpentry, manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work within a diverse work environment
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
• Possesses a high degree of initiative
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; be a team player; create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization; operate power equipment in a safe manner; lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs; twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis; use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements;
  
  work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting; follow inspecting process
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
