Injection OperatorThe Injection Operator performs a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of injection processes and is responsible for day-to-day operations of PET and HDPE injection equipment and its auxiliary equipment. (Niagara primarily purchases Husky equipment, among others).
Essential Functions- Prepare, set up, start, and run injection equipment.
- Perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed, with no mechanical work without prior approval.
- Accurately complete and update logs and forms such as injection preform and cap logs, destruction logs, and quality forms.
- Recognize unsafe conditions and actions, follow safety rules, and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Conduct visual and mechanical quality checks to ensure standards are met.
- Maintain housekeeping in all production areas.
- Define differences between Vpet, Rpet, & HDPE resins and identify safe parts for grinding and reintroduction.
- Meet quality requirements and report defects immediately.
- Work in multiple production areas with minimal supervision and perform relief duties when needed.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and collaborate with maintenance.
- Understand computer systems such as Shotscope, Electric
80, Ignition, etc. - Understand line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize throughput.
- Communicate issues clearly and concisely.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Work 12-hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment and position.
- Experience operating multiple manufacturing machines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in a similar environment and position.
- 2 years managing people or projects.
Focus on safety, continuous improvement, technical knowledge, and growth. Demonstrate leadership, adaptability, problem-solving, and effective communication.
Education- Minimum:
High School Diploma or GED. - Preferred:
Associate's Degree.
None required or preferred.
Foreign LanguageNone required or preferred.
