Off Site Inventory Clerk/Forklift Operator 1st shift
Purpose:
Keeps track of goods and supplies in the warehouse facilities and operates an industrial forklift to move materials in the warehouse region and to load and unload truck trailers or shipping containers. Operators maintain equipment, machines, and electrical components.
- Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts of industry to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas.
- Organizing and securing stored materials such as boxes, pallets, and so on.
- Maintaining and managing adequate inventory levels of goods and supplies.
- Loading or unloading materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
- Performing routine post and pre inspections to ensure suitable working nature or forklift equipment.
- Reporting to Supervisor regarding any damage to faulty equipment or any other safety hazards.
- Weighing products or materials and recording weight and further production information on labels and tags.
- Tracking and analyzing inventory flow, reorders, transfers, and losses.
- Investigating and correcting inventory discrepancies and errors.
- Completing forklift operator training provided by Surlean.
- Performing other duties as allotted by supervisor.
Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties. Work conditions vary; quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in processing departments. Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment is present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards are also present.
The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able to bend, stoop, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs, and to stand for long periods of time.

- Ability to stand for a long time.
High school degree preferred. Certification in operating forklifts is an advantage.
