Financial Services Leader - Accounting Manager | Spectrum Association Management

Overview

Financial Services Manager (Accounting Manager) – HOA Management Company. Do you want to oversee your own team? Do you want to work in a stable, recession-proof industry and make a significant impact at work? We are looking for an experienced team leader with a proven record in a customer service environment to lead a department serving over 500 clients.

Our Financial Services Manager is an operational team leader over a staff of Bookkeepers and others, responsible for the preparation and maintenance of client financial records including balance sheets, income statements, bank reconciliations, general ledger reports, cash disbursements, and cash flow statements. Additional requirements relate to banking, client setup, deposits, reporting, and tax preparation.

The Financial Services Manager will report to the Vice President of Operations and may be required to commute to the San Antonio office daily for team collaboration, onsite functions, staff development, and leadership meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the consistent, accurate delivery of accounting services for our customers.
  • Manage, lead, and develop a team of bookkeepers and other staff to ensure a consistent service product delivery.
  • Provide staff with ongoing development, positive motivation, training, and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with banking partners, vendors, internal staff, and external customers.
  • Autonomous, proactive leadership of the department and service delivery.
  • Manage daily activities of staff, review employee activities for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Be an always-positive opinion-maker in the leadership team and believe in the good in people.
  • Support and lead fraud prevention efforts both internally and on behalf of our customers.
  • Travel to the San Antonio office daily as required for team collaboration and leadership activities.
Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of solid leadership and management experience in financial services, banking, accounting, or similar fields.
  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in accounting.
  • Experience leading a team of at least ten employees for six years, managing a demanding service product with deadlines and legal requirements (preferred).
  • Strong focus on deadlines, accuracy, customer service, proactive communication, and technical accuracy.
  • Leadership with a servant attitude and a passion for developing and supporting others.
Requirements & Additional Information

The leader must be able to commute to the San Antonio office daily for team collaboration and leadership meetings. Our organization emphasizes a culture of excellence, employee development, and proactive problem solving. We have a training program to help new leaders become subject matter experts.

Location:
