Position Report To: Maintenance Manager / Ammonia Refrigeration

Hours:

5am-3pm OR 7pm-5am

Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, Ammonia/Refrigeration, the Assistant Manager works in the maintenance repair and preventative maintenance of all equipment assigned to this section. Specific duties include cleaning, installing, repairing, replacing insulation, filters, and other components of the assigned systems.

Education / Experience
  • Trade school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' experience assisting with related refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to use hand and shop tools used in the maintenance and repair of refrigerated systems.
  • Proven experience in refrigeration system maintenance and repair, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various refrigeration systems, including industrial and commercial applications.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand sketches and manufacturer's instructions.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day operations of the refrigeration department.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Supervise and train refrigeration technicians to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the refrigeration manager to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
  • Manage and supervise refrigeration associates including hiring, training and developing.
  • Ensures the Quality Improvement Process and team management concept are employed.
  • Provide timely, accurate and consistent reports, i.e., safety, production, cost administrative.
  • Provide a safe work environment for all associates by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions.
