The Painter is responsible for performing interior and exterior painting and related maintenance tasks across all buildings on campus. This role ensures that resident apartments, common areas, clinical spaces, and exterior structures are maintained to high standards of safety, cleanliness, and appearance.
This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work respectfully in occupied resident areas.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior painting of apartments, resident rooms, hallways, offices, and common areas
- Prepare surfaces including sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and drywall repair
- Match paint colors and textures as needed
- Perform minor drywall repairs and finishing
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Nursing teams
- Complete work orders in a timely manner
- Assist with apartment turns and renovation projects
- Support emergency response efforts when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of professional painting experience (commercial or residential)
- Experience with drywall repair and finishing preferred
- Knowledge of painting tools, materials, and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in occupied healthcare and residential environments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Some projects may be outdoors
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance liability requirements for driving between campuses (mileage available when requirements are met)
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or multi-building campus environments
- Experience working in occupied resident spaces
- Basic maintenance skills are a plus
