Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Estimator to join our growing team in the San Antonio area. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the residential solar industry who enjoys working with numbers, proposals, and cross‑functional teams. You’ll play a key role in preparing accurate project estimates while supporting our warehouse with pricing, inventory, and materials.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze drawings, plans, and project specifications to determine project scope
- Prepare detailed and accurate proposals for solar panel, generator, and battery installations
- Perform material and labor takeoffs using Bluebeam
- Develop cost estimates and bid proposals using Microsoft Excel
- Communicate with project managers and suppliers to obtain pricing
- Ensure all bids are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time
- Assist the warehouse team with pricing, inventory management, and materials coordination
- Familiarity working with CRM systems (Zoho ticketing system is a plus, but not required)
- Knowledge of the residential solar industry, including costs, equipment, and parts
- Ability to assess labor costs and assemble complete installation proposals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to move throughout warehouse and jobsite environments when required
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions
- Visual ability to read plans, documents, and computer screens
- Occasional exposure to warehouse conditions, including noise, dust, and varying temperatures
