Overview
Cesar Ornelas Law is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Immigration Attorney to represent clients in a wide range of immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research and advocacy skills, a client-centered approach, and a deep understanding of U.S. immigration laws and procedures. As an Attorney at this firm, you will have the opportunity to flourish and learn in a dynamic environment with the potential to have unlimited growth.
Our Texas offices include San Antonio, El Paso, Dallas, Houston, and Midland. Our New Mexico offices include Hobbs, Santa Fe, and Española.
- Provide legal advice and representation in immigration matters including:
- Family-based and employment-based immigration
- Nonimmigrant and immigrant visas
- Adjustment of status and consular processing
- Naturalization and citizenship
- Asylum, withholding of removal, and relief under VAWA and U visas
- Removal defense and deportation proceedings
- Prepare, review, and file immigration petitions, applications, motions, and appeals
- Represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration Courts, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and other government agencies
- Conduct client consultations and develop case strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation
- Stay current on changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other staff to ensure efficient case management
- Provide exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 2+ years of experience practicing immigration law (experience level may be flexible)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and procedures
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse populations
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred) is a plus
- Experience with removal defense and court appearances
- Familiarity with case management software
- Experience working with vulnerable or underserved communities
