Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled client-focused Account Manager to join our dynamic team at SA Benefit Services, a Division of Afore Insurance Services, LLC. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of key accounts and act as the primary liaison between our agency, brokers, third‑party administrators (TPAs), and carriers. Your expertise in stop‑loss insurance, self‑funded health plans, and underwriting processes will ensure a high level of service delivery, client retention, and operational excellence.
Candidates must have reliable internet service and be able to travel to team meetings in San Antonio, Texas, while working remotely in the San Antonio or surrounding area.

- Present stop-loss presentations to producers and clients related to the RFP process, implementation, open enrollment, and policy administration.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert on all assigned accounts, driving questions and assisting clients, brokers, TPAs, and carriers with challenges throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Build and release RFPs for the current block of business, requesting additional information as needed for marketing renewals.
- Receive new RFPs from clients or vendors, request additional information within 24 hours of receipt, and release a clean RFP to carriers within 24 hours.
- Oversee the initial and best‑and‑final stages of the RFP process: review received RFPs and reports, release RFPs to carriers, answer questions, receive quotes, consult with the CEO, negotiate with carriers, complete RFP questionnaires, analyze final reports, clear contingencies, and release final reports to carriers.
- Implement new and renewal accounts sold.
- Obtain all required documentation needed to issue the final policy.
- Receive stop-loss applications and policies, review, and audit for accuracy.
- Populate the SA Benefit Services monthly reporting package by interfacing with medical and prescription reporting from vendors for the assigned block of business.
- Request eligibility and work status from the client.
- File stop‑loss claims with the carrier.
- Answer all claim questions in a timely manner.
- Track reimbursement status.
- Release monthly reporting packages to the client, broker, and TPA on a monthly basis.
- 3–5 years of experience in account management within the stop‑loss, self‑funded, or employee benefits industry.
- Strong knowledge of stop‑loss products, underwriting principles, and claims processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high‑touch accounts with competing priorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CRM systems a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Active General Lines Health and Life Insurance License.
- Willingness to travel within San Antonio, Texas for frequent team meetings.
- Strong attention to detail, research, organizational and time‑management skills; ability to prioritize projects; self‑starter. Ability to think strategically, creatively, and independently.
- Strong writing, mathematical, interpersonal, and communication skills in person, on the phone, during video meetings, and through email.
