Kforce has a client that is seeking a Desktop Support Technician (Tier
1).
Overview:
A Kforce client has an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Technician to provide Tier 1 (intermediate level) technical support within an enterprise computing environment. This role focuses on supporting desktop and laptop systems, resolving end-user hardware and software issues, and delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
* Provide Tier 1 desktop and laptop support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices
* Unpack, configure, and deploy new desktops, laptops, and related equipment
* Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain operating systems and end-user applications
* Support Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project
* Perform equipment moves, adds, and changes for desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals
* Support LCD projectors, TVs, monitors, printers, and plotters
* Assist with basic PC networking issues and user access within Active Directory environments
* Provide end-user training on basic device and application functionality
* Research and recommend solutions for new or unfamiliar technical issues
* Fully document incidents, service requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system
* Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation and installation procedures
* Maintain current technical knowledge through independent research and skill development
* Deliver professional, customer-focused support to users at all levels of the organization
* Associate degree in Computer Maintenance Technology, Computer Help Desk Support, Computer Network Administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant IT experience
* Experience installing, configuring, supporting, and maintaining personal computers and hardware
* Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Active Directory
* Basic understanding of PC networking concepts and terminology
* Experience supporting printers, plotters, monitors, and presentation equipment
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard productivity tools
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven customer service and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and make sound recommendations
* Ability to meet established goals and service objectives
* Comfortable adapting to changing technologies, processes, and business needs
* Ability to work rotating schedules as required
* Ability to distinguish colors for identification of electronic components and wiring
Preferred Qualifications:
* Industry-recognized IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications)
* Experience supporting technical environments related to construction, maintenance, or field operations
* Prior experience in an enterprise desktop support environment
