Overview
Job Purpose
The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for the analysis, design and delivery of data management, warehousing, analysis and reporting solutions for Health Texas Medical Group. The Business Intelligence Solution Developer, under the direction of the Senior Data Architect, will drive the creation of high-value business intelligence methodology and solutions on the Microsoft technology platform. This position will work collaboratively across all Health Texas Medical Group departments.
This position requires the ability to translate objectives into technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience using Microsoft technologies to implement data integration, data warehousing, analytics and reporting (e.g. reports, scorecards, and dashboards). In addition, you will be responsible for contributing to the growth and success of Health Texas while upholding our Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Skills Required:
Develop written documentation and technical requirements based on business imperatives
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with SQL, SSRS and SSIS

- Proven working experience as a database developer
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite products
- Strong knowledge of and experience working with databases
- Knowledge of statistics is a plus
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, yet closely with team members and management
- Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn and understand business processes
- Ability to learn and understand key metrics for given processes
- Ability to map requirements to data visualization such as Report Mockups
- Healthcare data experience a plus
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- 5+ years of IT industry experience
- 5+ years Microsoft-related development experience
- 3+ years of business intelligence development experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field or equivalent
Work Hours, Travel Requirements
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and as needed to complete projects.
- Weekend hours as necessary for business functions.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
