Technical Writer – API and Documentation

Qualifications

• Proven experience in technical writing
• Proficient in developing and managing technical documentation
• Experience in project management methodologies
• Familiar with ITIL framework
• Knowledge of software/systems such as Miro, Process Manager, Adobe Workfront, and MS Office Products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
• Technical proficiency to comprehend IT systems and application architecture
• Ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation for diverse audiences
• Strong research and analytical skills to gather information from subject matter experts
• Exceptional attention to detail ensuring consistency and compliance with style guidelines
• Knowledge of document design and formatting principles for both print and digital formats

• Develop and maintain standardized technical documentation for critical systems and applications
• Collaborate with the Director of Process Improvement and Tier 2 IT Management staff to produce system and application architecture diagrams
• Liaise with department heads and end users to ascertain documentation requirements for hardware and software
• Assess IT project specifications to identify necessary documentation types
• Work closely with systems and development teams to collect and analyze technical information
• Ensure all finalized documents are of high quality and usability
• Keep documentation project plans and timelines current
• Create, design, and edit a variety of documents, including technical specifications and training materials for print and digital platforms
• Revise existing technical documentation for consistency and clarity
• Establish and uphold documentation standards and provide training as necessary
• Maintain the accuracy and currency of all documentation
• Perform additional duties as assigned, with the understanding that responsibilities may evolve

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team based in San Antonio, TX. In this contract position, you will work closely with our Director of Process Improvement and IT Management personnel to create and manage high-quality technical documentation and system architecture diagrams.
