Junior Cyber Operator (CPT) – NIX/Windows
SMS Data Products Group, Inc. is seeking a Junior Cyber Operator (CPT) – NIX/Windows to join our team.

Responsibilities- Conduct cyber threat hunting, network navigation, tactical forensic analysis, and collection of valuable operational data. Execute operations in support of defensive initiatives as directed.
- Provide support for persistent monitoring of designated networks, enclaves, and systems. Interpret, analyze, and report findings in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding to, and reporting discovered events.
- Manage and execute first‑level responses and address reported or detected incidents.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree or willingness to obtain one of the following certifications:
Network+. - Two (2) or more years of experience in cyber security required.
- DoD 8570.01‑M IAT Level III certification (current).
- Knowledge of application vulnerabilities, basic system, network, and OS hardening techniques, certified ethical hacking principles and techniques, data backup and restoration concepts, network architecture concepts, network security architecture, network traffic analysis methods, OSI model and underlying networking protocols, penetration testing tools and techniques, programming language structures and logic, relevant laws and regulations pertaining to CND activities, system administration concepts for Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems, common networking protocols and services, and what constitutes a “threat” to a network.
Skills/Qualifications
- Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) toolsets such as Elastic Endpoint Security, Crowd Strike Falcon, and Trellix EDR.
- Experience with encryption, decryption, and hashing technologies such as DES, AES, RSA, PKI, SHA, and MD5.
- Knowledge of Red Team Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP).
- Knowledge of distributed systems, process control, advanced routing, wireless, cloud, telecom and datacom platforms.
- Experience programming in C, C++, C#, Ruby, Perl, Python, SQL.
