DTAO IT Service Management Lead

Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a full‑time Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN), GS‑2210‑13 to lead DTA Operations IT Service Management. The role will be based at Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Directorate of Manpower, Personnel, and Services (A1), Digital Transformation Activity (DTA) at Joint Base San Antonio – Randolph, in Universal City, Texas.

The position offers a salary range of $106,932 to $139,013 based on experience and carries the authority to set Advance In‑Hire Rates for Cyber Workforce Positions. This is a non‑supervisory role focused on optimizing the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) through process improvement, automation, and alignment with ITIL best practices. Key responsibilities include championing change, release, configuration, and knowledge management to ensure smooth operations for Air Force and Space Force manpower and personnel systems.

As a subject‑matter expert, you will leverage analytical skills and technical proficiency to identify automation opportunities, streamline workflows, and enhance service delivery efficiency. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams, performance data analysis, and a culture of continuous improvement are essential to this role.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices for planning, coordinating, and administering computer systems to optimize performance.
• Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and staff of a small to medium‑sized organization.
• Ability to troubleshoot, recover, adjust, modify, and improve systems to solve complex problems and provide support that minimizes interruptions to customers.
• Knowledge of the latest technological advancements to initiate corrective or preventative action ensuring optimal system performance.
• Cyberspace Qualification is a condition of employment. This position includes cyberspace work as a paramount duty requirement. Foundational qualifications must be achieved within 9 months of assignment, and resident qualifications within 12 months, per DoDM 8140.03.
