EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree in Educational leadership or Human resources management preferred
- Five years related experience in human resources or school administration
- Experience in conflict resolution or mediation in a mid-size to large corporation or educational environment
- Leadership experience in public education is preferred
CERTIFICATION:
- Principal and T-TESS certification a plus
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the Senior Director of Human Resources with employment issues by coordinating and investigating employee relations matters to maintain effective employee/employer relations and ensure compliance in areas such as equal employment opportunity, a harassment-free work environment, and the Educator Standards of Conduct.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advises and consults with District administrative and supervisory personnel on employee relations matters in accordance with District policy and applicable law.Provides guidance and counsel to District management regarding employee relations, driving consistency, ensuring compliance, and supporting sound outcomes.Assists District administrative supervisory personnel in conducting campus/department investigations regarding allegations of employee misconduct in areas such as sexual harassment, student abuse, employee theft and drug/alcohol usage.Conducts and/or directs personnel investigations and employee discipline and assists with the administration of grievance procedures.Proactively addresses informal employee concerns to facilitate early resolution and reduce the need for formal grievance procedures.Designs, delivers, and facilitates recurring training for District administrative and supervisory personnel on employee relations topics, including but not limited to equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, and progressive discipline.Assists Senior Director of HR Services in responding to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) subpoena requests, completing state mandated notification.Supports the Senior Director of HR Services by researching cases, compiling evidence, and preparing written analyses with actionable recommendations.Ensure continuous compliance with legislative policies by monitoring the mandatory TEA registry and accurately submitting required SBEC reports.Briefs Executive Staff on pending investigations and is responsible for maintaining weekly reports concerning employee employment status.Monitors and ensures the district’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices to maintain compliance.Attends professional development (annually) to gain knowledge to support effective governance, updated legal compliance.Attends NEISD board meetings, as needed.Maintains extreme confidentiality of information.Reports to work on time daily.Flexible with work schedule.Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
