The HR Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Merit Coffee’s growing workforce by owning full‑cycle recruiting for all café roles while providing broad HR operational support across the employee lifecycle. This role partners closely with leaders to ensure a seamless hiring experience, maintain compliance, and deliver high‑touch employee support.
This is a hands‑on position ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, is highly organized, and is passionate about building strong teams and exceptional employee experiences.
Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Talent Acquisition- Own full‑cycle recruiting for all café and hourly roles
- Create and manage job postings across multiple platforms
- Proactively source candidates
- Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews
- Coordinate and schedule interviews
- Maintain ATS and candidate tracking
- Partner with hiring managers on staffing needs
- Manage offer process and pre‑employment steps
- Build talent pipelines for future hiring needs
- Ensure positive candidate experience
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Conduct new hire orientations
- Conduct HR systems training
- Maintain employee records and documentation
- Assist with benefits enrollment support
- Respond to employee HR questions
- Support performance review cycles
- Track employee changes (promotions, transfers, pay changes)
- Assist with policy administration
- Support employee engagement initiatives
- Assist with compliance reporting
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy
- Process employee updates
- Run reports as needed
Audit files for compliance - Support payroll audits and time‑keeping issues
- Track PTO and leave documentation
- 2+ years of HR experience (coordinator, recruiter, or generalist)
- Experience with high‑volume recruiting
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information
- Proficiency with HR systems
- High attention to detail
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or multilocation environments
- Knowledge of Texas labor laws
- Experience with Paychex or similar HRIS
