Must-Have:
2 years minimum experience in a Level III NICU required.
Charting system experience required.
Previous charge experience preferred.
Description:
High-risk Level III NICU setting.
Candidates must possess NRP and STABLE certifications.
Patient ratios are 3:1.
Experience in care for neonates starting at 34 weeks gestation is essential.
Skills required include blood glucose monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia management, and insulin administration.
Candidates must be familiar with phototherapy, breastfeeding support, and various feeding techniques (bottle, breast, gavage).
Knowledge of necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and its management is necessary.
Experience with placement and management of nasogastric and nasojejunal tubes is required.
Understanding of isolation precautions and PPE protocols is expected.
Candidates must be able to manage neonatal sepsis and sepsis work-up procedures.
Experience with administration of blood and blood products is essential.
Candidates should also be familiar with arterial line management and central line care.
Starting and maintaining IVs, as well as working with umbilical artery and vein catheters, is required.
Neonatal dosage calculations and medication administration, including antibiotics and anti-seizure medications, are necessary skills.
Experience with IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids is required.
Candidates should assist with lumbar punctures and manage neonatal abstinence syndrome.
Knowledge of therapeutic hypothermia and APGAR scoring is a must.
Candidates will need to provide developmental care and teach patients and families.
Familiarity with phlebotomy and neonatal thermoregulation is required.
Experience with bubble CPAP and various suctioning methods is essential.
Knowledge of high flow nasal cannula, high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide, and management of chest tubes is necessary.
Experience with meconium aspiration and various oxygen delivery systems is required.
Familiarity with respiratory distress syndrome and ventilator management is essential.
