Supervisory Program Specialist

This position is located at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, Audie L. Murphy Division. The position reports directly to the Health Administration Service Line Chief and works directly with all members of the network and medical center staffs.

Major Duties:

* Incumbent is responsible for the implementation of VHA directives and MAS Policies as established by federal law and VA Policy, VISN Policy, and System Policy.

* Incumbent develops and implements systems and procedures for improving cost effectiveness.

* Responsible for providing the influence and persuasion which foster the acceptance and exercise of sound MAS concepts, practices, and innovations.

* Responsible for coordinating all medical administration activities within STVHCS.

* The incumbent acts autonomously to plan and execute complex strategic initiatives as well as overseeing day-to-day service operations.

* The incumbent develops, evaluates, and modifies organization structure and systems to achieve program goals.

* Knowledge of internal organization and content of CPRS and VistA to retrieve information when necessary to determine patients information.

* Knowledge of accounting principles in order to track and trend expenditures, validate annual funding requests, maintain sufficient funding for projected expenditures, reconcile control points and purchase orders and produce data driven reports.

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PPT)

Work Schedule:

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
