The Mission of St. PJ's Children's Home is to be a safe and loving refuge for children in crisis and to accompany them on their journey to healing and wholeness, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect one child at a time.

• Under the general direction of the Lead Clinician, conduct mental health assessments for UAC in care, including ongoing individual counseling, group counseling and crisis intervention in accordance with agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards, and ORR Policy.
• Screen for human trafficking concerns and assist with the safe and timely release of UAC.
• Promote best practice and facilitate the optimum delivery of quality trauma-informed care and mental health services to UAC.
• Conduct assessments and complete documentation within required time frames.
• Prepare goal-oriented assessments and progress reports.
• Ensure that the immediate and ongoing mental health needs of children are met through assessment, counseling services and community-based auxiliary services when needed.
• Enhance the optimal emotional well-being of each child, identifying and treating children with mental health symptoms and responding to mental health crises.
• Maintain the safety and well-being of children through supervision, adherence to program policies, and appropriate interventions, including crisis management techniques when necessary.
• Assess the therapeutic milieu of the program and participate in enhancing the living and working environment.
• Demonstrate knowledge and sensitivity of cultural norms, values and heritage; be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Adhere to safety training and protocols daily, ensuring the safety and well-being of self and others.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and Faith and Morals Policy.
• Attend and complete a 10-day New Employee Orientation; failure to meet this requirement may affect employment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited program in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or other behavioral discipline with clinical experience requirements.
• License and Credentials:
  Reliable transportation;
  Valid driver license;
  Valid vehicle insurance;
  Must be licensed or eligible for licensure. Non-licensed clinicians must be actively working towards licensure within 3 years of employment.
• Immunization requirements:
  Varicella, MMR, DTaP/DTap, and Influenza vaccines as specified for working with unaccompanied children.
