The Referral Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the referral process, ensuring that patients receive timely access to specialty care and services. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a strong commitment to patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Referral Management:
    • Receive and review referral requests from primary care physicians and other healthcare providers via fax and referral software management systems (e.g., Leading Reach).
    • Verify insurance and eligibility information for referred patients.
    • Ensure that all referral documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Coordination and Scheduling:
    • Coordinate and schedule appointments for referred patients with our specialist providers.
    • Communicate appointment details and instructions to patients, including any necessary preparations.
  • Patient Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for referred patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Educate patients on the referral process and assist with any required paperwork.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate and organized electronic records of referrals, authorizations, and patient interactions.
    • Maintain communication with referring providers regarding status of referrals.
    • Prepare and submit necessary reports to clinic management.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all referral processes adhere to clinic policies and regulatory guidelines.
    • Continuously assess and improve referral coordination procedures for maximum efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Light data entry and other related office duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
