We are searching for our next SUPER STAR
! In this role you will assist the Health Information Department in developing and maintaining an efficient electronic medical records system that will benefit the quality health care of all patients.
- Collect, date stamp, and review all medical record documentation received by fax or mail.
- Scan information into the correct tab in the electronic medical record.
- Route information to the provider for review and/or signature in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain the electronic medical records system and implement improvements in cooperation with the Supervisor‑Health Information Management.
- Maintain the integrity of the Health Information Department by abiding by confidentiality and storage policies.
- Work in cooperation with supervisors and managed care entities to perform medical chart reviews.
- Collect and review releases of information and distribute within the medical records department.
- Document receipt and transfer of complete release of information in a timely manner.
- Abide by infection control policies and procedures as dictated in the Centro del Barrio Infection Control Manual.
- Abide by policies and procedures on hazardous materials as dictated in the Employee Safety Handbook.
- Participate in the agency's Quality Improvement Program.
- Abide by all safety policies as dictated in the Employee Safety Manual.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience in medical records. One year preferred.
- Typing/keyboarding skills helpful.
- Must be able to perform essential functions of the position.
- Must meet attendance requirements.
- Must not pose a threat to health or safety of others.
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
- Must deliver excellent customer service externally and internally.
