Varco Hospice is seeking a compassionate and experienced PRN Chaplain to support patients and families throughout the end-of-life journey. We provide hospice services throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas and are looking for a chaplain who is comfortable serving diverse populations with respect and empathy.
ResponsibilitiesProvide spiritual and emotional support to hospice patients, families, and caregivers
Offer bereavement support in alignment with hospice philosophy of care
Address spiritual concerns related to illness, death, and dying
Support patients and families in accordance with their individual beliefs, values, and cultural traditions
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team
Attend mandatory Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings every two weeks
Maintain timely and accurate documentation per agency policy
Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theology degree) or Ordained Minister
Hospice and bereavement experience required
Experience working with individuals and families facing death and dying
Comfortable providing care in interfaith and multicultural settings
Demonstrated ability to respect and support diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license with insured, reliable transportation
PRN only
