- Greeting patients entering the physician practice
- Answering office phones, making appointments, confirming appointments and rescheduling when necessary
- Check in patients, collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into electronic systems, and verify insurance
- Assist in checking out patients and processing referrals and scheduling
- Collect co-pays and post charges
- Charge entry and patient balance processing
- Distribute information to patients regarding office policies and practice information
- Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal
Education: High school diploma/GED required with completion of a medical office assistant program preferred.
Certification: Prefer healthcare management/administration certification.
Experience: Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
