Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for operating multi-slice computerized tomography scanners to obtain cross sectional images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established standards.

Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns.

Performs all ultrasound techniques and examinations, abdominal scans, retroperitoneal scans, obstetric and gynecological.

Performs quality assurance on CT scanning equipment according to ACR QA requirements.

Properly uses the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and communication system (PACS).

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Follows scanning protocols.

Must have Advanced experience in post processing of 3D imaging.

Must be current with the functionality of CT scanners and must have strong IV skills.

Knowledgeable in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, as well as all peripheral hardware, including the console, monitoring equipment, and any and all devices used in CT.

Ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives and choose an appropriate course of actions.

Demonstrated knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Licenses and

Certifications:

BLS Basic Life Support Required.

AART American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (R) (CT) - Required.

MRT Medical Radiologic Technologist - Required.

• Five (5) years of CT experience to include at least one (1) year of Radiation Simulation experience is required.
