Responsibilities- Ensure total operation compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain the highest production standards.
- Maintain a high level of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values and culture.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area to ensure a professional and sterile environment.
- Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.
- Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
- Label each unit and sample accurately.
- Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Operate the automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to all machine alarms and alerts, manage donor adverse events, and document exceptions.
- Monitor donor conditions and employ techniques to ensure donor comfort, safety, and product quality.
- Administer proper ratio of blood to product to ensure donor safety and product quality.
- Disconnect donor and manage disposal of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols, including cleaning spills and proper waste disposition.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly calibration/maintenance of automated machines; remove or replace equipment from service if needed.
- Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of necessary records, including machine logs.
- Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management.
- Maintain and replenish adequate inventory and supplies on plasma carts.
- Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
- Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform routine QCs on equipment.
- Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Any state‑specific certification or licensing as required.
- Minimum 3 months experience in a medical or health‑care environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to independent operation.
- Strong customer‑service skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Ability to produce accurate, complete documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations and procedure manuals.
- Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort throughout shift, flexibility with schedule).
- Availability to work day‑time and evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
- Ability to perform venipuncture.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.
- Ability to utilize all required personal protective equipment.
- Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
- Ability to view a video display terminal
