Under the general supervision of the director, Heart and Vascular Services and CV Coordinator, the CV Technologist in the Cath lab is responsible for the provision of services of a highly specialized nature to patients according to physician’s orders. They provide for patient safety and high‑quality testing, and are responsible for the operation of all x‑ray equipment, scrubbing‑in to assist the physician in complex angiographic procedures, and the provision of safe and effective care of the patient having invasive or non‑invasive special procedures in the Cath Lab to include the immediate pre‑procedure period, during the procedure, and immediately following the procedure.
RequiredEducation
Graduate of an accredited school of radiology, nursing, or certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
Preferred EducationARRT, RN, or RCIS.
Required SkillsBasic computer keyboard skills.
Preferred SkillsMeditech proficiency.
Required Licensure/Registration/CertificationCertified Medical Radiology Technologist, LVN, RN, Cardiovascular Tech I, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Certified in Basic Life Support.
Preferred Licensure/Registration/CertificationCertified Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), Cardio‑Vascular Certified RN (CVRN).
Required ExperienceInterventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab clinical experience.
Preferred ExperienceTwo or more years’ experience in a hospital Cardiac Cath Lab unit.
