JOB DESCRIPTION

The Center for Brain Health (CBH) is seeking a skilled and motivated MRI Technologist to operate a state‑of‑the‑art Siemens 7 Tesla (7T) MRI scanner. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced clinical imaging and cutting‑edge neuroscience research. The 7T MRI at CBH is one of only a few of its kind in the country and will support studies exploring brain health, cognitive function, neurodegenerative diseases, brain injury, and more.

In addition to research protocols, the technologist will also support specialized clinical imaging workflows in a high‑field environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate the 7T MRI scanner in accordance with clinical and research protocols
  • Collaborate with researchers, imaging scientists, and clinicians on study execution
  • Ensure patient/participant safety, comfort, and education, especially in high‑field MRI settings
  • Perform routine quality assurance and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and imaging best practices
  • Assist in protocol development and optimization
  • Perform other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS

In depth knowledge in the operation of the power injector and contrast administration/usage, all peripheral hardware and all devices used in MRI. Advanced working knowledge in patient care, MRI safety, and IV starts. Ability to arrive at accurate conclusions and solutions by visualizing new potentials, and by identifying, defining and analyzing problems and situations using rational and intuitive processes. Builds and maintains positive working relationships with individuals, work groups, and across departments, through open communication and collaboration;

works with others to accomplish goals and objectives. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • ARRT (MR) certification or equivalent and Texas Medical Board License required
  • Experience with Siemens MRI platforms is preferred
  • Six (6) years of job related experience is required. 7T or high‑field (3T+) experience preferred
