Join the TxDOT San Antonio District as a Construction Records Auditor. The District Construction Office is seeking a candidate who is analytical, loves attention to detail, and works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, this individual will be responsible for ensuring State and Federal contract compliance is being met on various construction projects. This individual will also be accountable for managing, processing, and auditing (internally) major construction projects including recommending more efficient means of bookkeeping.

Annual Salary RangesConstruction Records Auditor II (B19): $48,244- $76,028
Construction Records Auditor III (B20): $51,158- $81,351
Essential DutiesConstruction Records Auditor II
- Performs final review of contracts.
- Advises contractors' bookkeepers on record-keeping procedures.
- Assists with Federal Highway Administration and departmental reviews of construction records and may act as liaison with this agency.
- May serve as District DBE Coordinator.
- Performs and reviews construction records audits and coordinates with area engineers on monthly and final estimates, change orders, supplemental agreements and work orders.
- Prepares related correspondence and reports.
- Trains less experienced recordkeepers and records auditors.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Construction Records Auditor III
- Acts as liaison and assists with Federal Highway Administration and departmental reviews of construction records.
- Performs final review of contracts.
- Trains less experienced recordkeepers and records auditors.
Education:
High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies. Related college education or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications.
- Construction Records Auditor II: 1 year of record keeping, bookkeeping, auditing or other related experience.
- Construction Records Auditor III: 2 years of record keeping, bookkeeping, auditing or other related experience.
(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
Licenses and Certifications- Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

- Reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps
- Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
- Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
- Maintaining a safe and effective working relationship with others
- Establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support overall business strategy/results; anticipating and adjusting for problems/roadblocks
- Analyzing issues, facts, and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies of facts or data; drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions
- Sedentary work:
Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools - Standing: prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Close Visual Acuity: work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
