Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid: Monday-Thursday onsite; Training: 100% onsite for first 2 months)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Pay: $15-$26/hour DOE

Position Summary:
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a fast-paced finance team in San Antonio. This role is responsible for day-to-day financial transactions, payables, record keeping, reconciliations, and month/year-end preparations. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and analytical skills, can manage multiple tasks independently, and thrives in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process all financial transactions with accuracy, including ACH/Nacha files, wire transfers, check payments, and credit card payments.
• Maintain vendor records and transaction details; support monthly accruals and account reconciliations.
• Assist with compiling and organizing payroll data and employee changes for multiple entities.
• Manage AP inbox, respond to vendor and internal inquiries promptly.
• Support year-end processing including 1099s, W-2s, and payroll checklists.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and other accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required;
  Associate or Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related finance field.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and Accounts Payable principles.
• Experience processing high-volume invoices (monthly/weekly) and payments via ACH, wire, and check.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Sage 100, Sage Intacct, or other ERP software preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
