Summary
The Universal Banker (UB) is a self‑starter with a strong work ethic, focused on delivering full‑service customer experiences. The UB assists with cash, checks, credit, opening new accounts, taking loan applications, and providing financial recommendations to deepen relationships and drive sales.
Essential Duties- Provides a welcoming environment and communicates professionally with customers and the team.
- Displays passion for serving others and consistently delivers exceptional quality service.
- Uses critical thinking to resolve or identify financial solutions for new and existing customers.
- Contributes to banking center and individual sales/referral goals by cross‑selling and referring customers to partners for complex financial needs (e.g., Commercial Lending, Mortgage, Insurance, Investments, Merchant Services, Wealth Management, Treasury Management).
- Provides full customer service, including opening all types of deposits, new accounts, consumer and small business loans (when authorized), credit cards, and cross‑selling other bank products/services such as self‑service banking (ATM, Mobile Banking, etc.).
- Ensures attainment of targets for loan and deposit growth, past‑dues, delinquency ratios and charge‑offs.
- Assists teller line as needed and maintains and balances the cash drawer.
- Maintains current knowledge of compliance rules, internal audit controls and banking center operations.
- Participates in job‑specific and broader bank training programs as required.
- Maintains knowledge of internal risk controls, loss prevention and reporting of suspicious or unusual activity per bank policy.
- Stays compliant with all federal and state laws, regulations and bank policies (including BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field (preferred). Equivalent experience may substitute.
- At least 6 months of Teller experience.
- At least 1 year of Banking experience.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology platforms.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Thorough understanding of corporate business account documentation, consumer loan documentation and proficiency with BSA and CIP.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
- Flexible work schedule including Mondays‑Fridays and Saturday rotation.
- Reports to the Banking Center Manager (SA).
- Does not oversee other positions.
All employees must attend scheduled mandatory training and complete online regulatory compliance courses applicable to their function. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
