We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a dealership within our organization. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for financial reporting, operational compliance, team development, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in dealership accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a strong command of financial controls.

• Manage the preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements for the dealership
• Ensure financial statements are completed within the first week of each month and lead review sessions with dealership management
• Analyze results and collaborate with leadership to develop corrective action plans that enhance dealership profitability
• Oversee accurate and timely forecasting of quarterly and annual financial goals
• Support year-end audit and reporting processes with external accounting firms

Operational & Dealership Accounting

• Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of retail and wholesale deals, adhering to company policy and internal controls
• Monitor deal flow between F&I and billing departments, investigating discrepancies and ensuring timely posting to accounting
• Verify correct reporting of pack accounts and gross variances
• Lead regular financial and operational meetings with dealership managers and the Corporate Leadership Team
• Hire, train, and manage accounting team members, including Assistant Controllers, Office Managers, A/P, and A/R staff
• Conduct weekly team meetings and provide mentorship, support, and accountability for direct reports
• Promote a collaborative, performance-oriented culture aligned with company goals

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure adherence to all accounting policies and procedures, including the company Privacy and Information Security Policy
• Monitor internal controls, authorize personnel updates, and identify any weaknesses in processes or compliance
• Maintain DMS (Dealer Track) reporting accuracy and enhance reporting efficiency as needed

Cash & Banking Management

• Manage daily deposits, bank reconciliations, and cash flow across dealership entities
• Oversee commercial billing, disbursements, receipt processing, and expense reporting systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an accounting/controller role
• OEM New Car Dealership experience is required
• Proficient in Excel and dealership management systems, particularly Dealer Track DMS
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and dealership operations

Additional Expectations

This role may require participation in special projects or additional responsibilities as business needs evolve. The Controller is expected to take ownership of these tasks and ensure timely, accurate execution in support of the broader finance and operational strategy.
