Standard Aero is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager at our Stockton Facility. This role involves forecasting, collecting, and analyzing financial data related to Revenue, Direct Margin, and Inventory.
Cost Accounting Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting for Accounting, Sales, and Production, including program and product profitability.
- Prepare periodic cost reconciliation reports, monitoring data such as labor and supply costs.
- Manage inventory valuation and maintain reconciliations.
- Evaluate inventory transactions like receiving, storage, and shipping to ensure integrity.
- Participate in the ongoing 24-month SIOP reporting process.
- Analyze past financial performance to forecast future outcomes and advise on financial strategies.
- Offer creative solutions to reduce costs and enhance financial performance.
- Develop and summarize data for sophisticated financial reports highlighting status and risks.
- Create financial models, conduct benchmarking, and analyze processes.
- Perform business studies on performance and develop forecast models.
- Identify trends, recommend actions, and advise senior management based on analysis.
- Compare actual results with forecasts to determine financial status.
- Collaborate weekly with the Purchasing team on inventory purchases.
- Work with Planning for Military and Customer Service for Commercial revenue forecasting.
- Interpret customer requirements into feasible options and communicate with stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements and policy development impacting the finance function.
- Maintain expertise in inventory systems to ensure accuracy.
- Support pricing and proposals by providing historical costing data.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 5 years of experience.
- Experience in cost accounting or program finance analysis.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software.
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional presentation, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of related experience.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of SQL or Power BI.
- Understanding of FAR, CAS, and DFARS regulations.
- Aerospace & Defense industry experience.
- Experience with government accounting and project estimates.
Salary Range: $90,000-$135,000 annually. Actual offers depend on experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
