Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) accounting and Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP). The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic insight to support business growth.

• Oversee all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Maintain and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) schedules to ensure accurate revenue recognition and job costing.
• Administer and ensure compliance with ESOP regulations, including annual valuations, contributions, and communication with plan trustees.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes; track and report variances to management.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Support external audits and tax filings, acting as the primary liaison with auditors and tax advisors.
• Provide strategic financial input to senior leadership to drive operational efficiency and long-term planning.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Strong experience with WIP accounting and revenue recognition (preferably in job-cost industries like construction, manufacturing, or engineering)
• Hands-on experience managing ESOPs, including compliance, reporting, and employee communications
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, Net Suite, Viewpoint, etc.)
