Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Accountant with three (3) to five (5) years of experience in financial reporting and financial data analysis to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, account reconciliations, financial statements, and related reports. Tax provision and/or corporate tax experience is preferred for this role.
Experience in a mutual fund related environment and knowledge of corporate investments is also preferred.
- Assists with the monthly closing process, to include preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.
- Assists with preparation of quarterly board reports and any other financial analyses as requested by management.
- Assists with the preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q SEC filings, including PBC lists and calendars, and provides information to the external auditors during the review/audit process.
- Assists with the preparation or review of reports for corporate investments.
- Assists with the preparation or review of quarterly tax-related work papers; provides financial information so that third parties can prepare and file annual tax returns.
- Assists with the annual Sarbanes‑Oxley project, coordinating with the consultant and external auditors.
- Assists with researching and implementing accounting pronouncements or other projects as assigned by management.
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration is required. Master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
- CPA required; all team members must remain current with licensure/certification while employed with the Company.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of prior experience with financial reporting and financial data analysis is required.
- Experience with GAAP financial statements is required.
- Experience in a mutual fund related environment and knowledge of corporate investments is preferred.
