Job Details

We're looking for a skilled Building Automation Field Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, TX that's experienced with troubleshooting, optimizing, and commissioning BAS/DDC control systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring the successful installation, startup, and integration of building automation systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

What You'll Be Doing:
System Installation & Startup

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, and calibration of building automation systems.
• Work with DDC controllers, sensors, actuators, and networks to bring systems online and ensure proper functionality.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Diagnose and resolve issues with BAS components, programming logic, and network communications.
• Provide real-time technical support to customers and field technicians to ensure smooth operation.
• Conduct functional testing and system verification to meet design intent and performance standards.

Programming & Integration

• Work with Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric platforms (or similar BAS systems).
• Configure graphics, alarms, trends, and sequences of operations for optimal system performance.
• Assist with integrating third-party devices, networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works), and IoT solutions.

Project Coordination & Documentation

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of automation projects.
• Maintain detailed service reports, programming logs, and as-built documentation.

? Experience &

Skills:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following BAS systems:
  Schneider Electric, Siemens, JCI, ALC, Trane, Delta Controls, Distech, Honeywell, or others
• Experience with programming, configuring, and troubleshooting DDC controllers.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Lon Works, and IP-based communication protocols.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.

? Education & Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):

• Technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field.
• BAS manufacturer certifications (Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, etc.) are a plus.
