We are seeking an Associate Engineering Technician to support engineering teams under general supervision. Duties would include technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices and utilizing digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling). The Technician also creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables and provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
Key Responsibilities- Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures
- Apply knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Use and expand applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures
- Create and develop project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
- Perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks
- Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences
- Support internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers
- Proactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes
- Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station
- Basic Civil 3D experience with knowledge of alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile, and sections.
- Basic Civil 3D experience with proposed grading and surfaces
- Education:
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate required. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
- Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
