Overview
The Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. The Estimator must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received. The Estimator scrutinizes incoming inquiries, assesses all technical issues and prepares estimates of the costs of the work. The focus of the Estimator is on producing high quality, detailed work based on established standards, guidelines and procedures.
Consistent, error free work based on defined regulations and standards are key measures of job performance success.
- Work as Lead Estimator on assigned projects – CSP.
- Set-Up/Coordinate bids in Building Connected.
- Ensure Building Connected is updated with Addenda & additional information.
- Coordinate with PSLP take-off assignments & bid packages.
- Coordinate models with VDC.
- Manage any assisting personnel assigned to the project.
- Set & maintain deliverable deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of scope and means & methods.
- Assign take-off / bid team & schedule plan flip.
- Ability to review front-end docs & adjust accordingly.
- Work with Marketing on proposal deliverables.
- Work with Ops on GC's & GR's.
- Properly prepare estimate Top Sheet & Alternates.
- Properly prepare Bid Tabs.
- Ensure SLI subcontractor participation.
- Ensure subsidiary participation.
- Ensure Fee is maintained/enhanced on Negotiated projects.
- Coordinate RFI process.
- Lead VE process.
- Lead Constructability Review Process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift, up to 15 pounds at times.
- Travel as needed.
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 3 – 5+ years of estimating experience for large projects.
- Knowledge of estimating software, engineering principles and construction principles.
