Overview
Project Manager - Public Works Civil Engineering s role supports our growing public works market in Texas and Oklahoma and offers opportunities for professional development within a collaborative civil engineering team. Candidates may sit in our Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio offices.
Our Public Works Team includes over 20 local engineers and scientists as well as a larger national community of practice. We emphasize a collaborative approach to project delivery, business development, and operational success with opportunities for growth and advancement. Responsibilities- Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, ensuring company quality standards and delivering customer value.
- Manage roadway, drainage, water and wastewater improvement projects for public sector clients, supported by project teams of engineers, scientists, and planners to deliver a full range of water-related engineering services.
- Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts that include complex, multi-disciplinary projects in planning, design, and construction.
- Participate in technical/project scoping activities and proposal presentations with targeted clients.
- Mentor the technical development of staff and contribute to team growth.
- Manage projects, present at technical conferences, and engage in technical committees.
- 5+ years’ experience in public works engineering studies and designs
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred - Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas preferred
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering related to public infrastructure improvements
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, or similar
- Project management experience including planning, budgeting, and scheduling
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
