The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating tooling and solution designs across multiple variations and validating results against defined performance targets. This role requires advanced CAD expertise and hands-on experience in automotive or heavy-vehicle manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop CAD models and detailed drawings for tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions
- Design and validate solutions to support throughput expansion and performance improvement
- Collaborate with tooling engineers, manufacturing teams, and local stakeholders for design implementation
- Prepare complete documentation packages and support formal design reviews
- Validate designs against functional, performance, and manufacturing requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in tooling and fixture design within automotive or trucking industries
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and design validation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, onsite manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering and manufacturing teams
- Onsite required:
Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM - Meetings may extend between 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional Friday or Saturday work may be required for major installations or cutover activities
