Senior Structural Engineer (Data Centers)

Your impact:
As a Senior Structural Engineer within the Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work on Data Center projects – new builds, retrofits, colocations, etc. You will perform structural engineering assignments, increasing your familiarity with design methods and tools. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and designers on capital projects, liaise with internal professionals, coordinate designs with Jacobs offices domestically and internationally, and grow technically and professionally.
Key contributions include:
- Performing a variety of analysis
- Creating computer models for structures
- Performing calculations for member designs and foundations, material take‑offs for estimating, preparing miscellaneous calculations, assisting with schedules, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 8 or more years of professional experience in structural engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Micro Station, and S3D
- Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design codes and standards
- Knowledge and application of Building Codes
- Proficiency with MS Office suite including MS Teams for remote coordination
- Ability to travel to client sites (10-20% travel)
Desired qualifications include:
- Master of Science in Engineering
- Experience with industrial metals projects (casting, rolling operations, or similar heavy industrial projects)
- Ability to lead teams to deliver commitments on schedule and on budget while meeting quality and client expectations
