Position Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing manufacturing projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and external vendors to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Plan, manage, and execute manufacturing projects such as new product introductions, equipment installations, process improvements, and facility upgrades
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, maintenance, procurement, and suppliers)
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements (e.g., TCEQ, OSHA, EPA where applicable)
- Manage capital and operational expenditures related to projects
- Track and report project performance metrics to stakeholders and leadership
- Lead project meetings, maintain documentation, and communicate status updates
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, or similar methodologies
- Manage change requests and ensure proper documentation and approvals
- Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and simulations to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Support the design and development of mobile and decentralized water/wastewater systems, focusing on integration with PLC controls and automation.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, bills of materials, and O&M manuals.
- Assist in the evaluation of new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve reliability and performance.
- Work closely with Operations, Compliance, and Controls Engineering teams to define project needs, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
- Act as the key liaison between Maintenance Suppliers and the Engineering Department, ensuring clear communication and resolution of technical issues.
- Review and respond to drawings, submittals, and RFIs (Requests for Information) to support ongoing project.
- Ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support quality assurance efforts, including inspections, documentation review, and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Assist with regulatory engagement as needed for permit applications and approval.
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in water/wastewater systems, controls, and automation.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in design, project execution, and system performance.
- Contribute to internal best practices, SOPs, and engineering standards.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering certification in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering project design, development, or management and a strong technical background.
- Experience with mobile or decentralized water/wastewater systems, PLC controls, or industrial automation.
- Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years; no DWIs in the past 5 years).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet field safety and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
- Experience with CAD design tools (AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.).
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling or electrical control system layouts.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver technical projects on time and within budget.
