Building & Code Compliance Inspector
ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Code Compliance Project Manager to join our Southwest Facilities team in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you’ll lead a wide range of inspection and plan review projects while ensuring alignment with state and local building codes. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience in building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems, along with strong project management capabilities.
Responsibilities- Perform third‑party building, electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety inspections.
- Prepare and submit daily time and inspection/field reports in accordance with ECS policy.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Project manage code compliance projects, including plan review, technical support, inspections, monitoring project processes for performance and budgetary conditions, proposal preparation, attending site meetings, and resolving technical and administrative problems.
- Possibly mentor and train other building inspectors.
- Assist with P&L management, marketing services by maintaining client interactions, and participating in marketing and business development functions related to code inspections.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in code compliance inspection of building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review.
- At least one valid ICC certification required (B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I or II); IECC certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.
