Job Description
OverviewWe are currently seeking a Project Engineer in San Antonio, TX at our VIA Project to join our team.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.
- Assist Project Manager and Project Engineer and act as support for the field.
- Know the contractual obligations that HCC has with the client and vice versa.
- Review and log shop drawings; assist field engineers with processing of submittals and RFI’s.
- Code materials, labor and equipment.
- Procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project.
- Process material submittals and requests for information.
- Assist with Subcontract administration.
- Acquire and assist with closing construction-related permits.
- Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of company Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Four-year engineering degree plus two or more years similar construction scheduling experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Must have strong organization skills.
- Must be highly motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Prolog or PM Web is a plus.
- Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
- Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
- Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
- Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
- Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
- Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
- Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
- Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
- Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
- Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
