Position Summary Seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to work on defense, space, and security commercial derivative airplane programs. Responsibilities include developing and validating E3 requirements and architectures, providing EMI/EMC expertise, and ensuring EMC of electronics, wiring, and structure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict component, interconnect, and system performance for E3.
- Achieve EMC of electronics, wiring, and structure with minimal direction.
- Interface with manufacturing and suppliers to assure compatibility at the system level.
- Report achievements and issues to program management and customers.
- Support project management by coordinating development of work statements, budgets, schedules, and reviews.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
- Apply EMI engineering technology to document and solve complex problems.
- Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and testing.
- Communicate clearly on cross-functional support teams and review boards.
- Process engineering data into meaningful tables and graphs for reports.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics or physics.
- 7+ years of related work experience (Expert Level).
- Familiar with electromagnetic concepts (RF isolation, shielding, grounding, filtering).
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461/464, DO-160, and aerospace E3.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity in defense or aerospace industry.
- Experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC.
- Prior experience with aerospace E3 and aircraft LRU EMI qualification testing.
- Knowledge of aircraft-level E3 requirements and MIL-STD-464 test methods.
- Electrical bonding best practices for E3 compliance.
- Foundation in RF systems or computational E3 analytical tools.

- Pay Range: $70‑$80 per hour.
