Job Description

Responsible for the creation and development of programs and activities in the Student Inclusion and Belonging Office (SIB) to advance the University’s commitment to the core value of intentional inclusion. Plays a lead role in cultivating a culture of inclusion across campus where all students can find a space of belonging. In coordination with the Director, ensures the success of SIB’s educational programs and activities as well as develops future initiatives that promote student inclusion and belonging and dialogue across difference both within SIB itself and in close collaboration with partners internal and external to the University.

Job Duties
  • Creates and develops programs and educational activities designed to impact recruitment, retention, belonging and graduation. Follows set risk management and safety guidelines, procedures and policies.
  • Plans and facilitates events/activities including event logistics for office specific programs, campus-wide events, and San Antonio area events that support proactive and inclusive practices to increase sense of belonging. Facilitates the development of events related to observance/heritage/awareness months, weeks, and days (e.g., Hispanic Heritage Month, First-Gen Week, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, Indigenous Heritage Month, etc.).
  • Plans and facilitates the University’s participation in the city-wide annual MLK Jr. Day march and Cesar Chavez celebrations. Promotes student engagement with the city of San Antonio.
  • Plans and facilitates the inclusive celebrations for graduating seniors each spring semester which include AAPI, De Colores, Kente, Lavender, and First-Gen.
  • Supports the First-Gen Tigers Program by assisting with the planning and development of educational events/activities and mentoring components. Serves as the co-advisor for the Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society and co-facilitates the annual Tri-Alpha Induction Ceremony.
  • Researches and implements best practices related to inclusion and belonging programming grounded in student development theory.
  • Develops and maintains communications and marketing campaigns such as website content, educational resources, flyers, presentations, and social media.
  • Coordinates and facilitates professional development and educational awareness workshops and trainings in collaboration with various campus partners for the benefit and enhancement of the campus community.
  • Supervises student assistants for the office including conducting search processes, hiring, managing student work schedules, designating duties, training and coordinating professional development for student assistants.
  • Supervises a graduate assistant for the office including conducting search process, hiring, managing the work schedule, designating duties, training and coordinating professional development to enhance the SIB office.
  • Serves as a professional advisor and provides complete oversight of Trinity Diversity Connection (TDC), a University Sponsored Organization (USO) responsible for campus programming (including late night and weekend programming). Directs all aspects of TDC’s programming on campus to include understanding university procedures and policies, program planning, evaluation, assessment and budget management responsibilities.
  • Provides support to cultural and identity-based student organizations (RSOs/USOs) and/or access to on and off campus resources such as connections with relevant staff/faculty resources or local city agencies, businesses, non-profits, organizations, and institutions.
